Hello All,
We have been on the forum for a while but we didn't do our "Hello" post until our purchase of our 2016 Berkshire 38A was finalized. Call me superstitious!
We live in Pearl River, Louisiana which is about 45 miles east of New Orleans. Pearl River is the home of the Honey Island Swamp. If you have ever watched Swamp People, our area swamp hunter is Terral Evans. He does more "relocations of problem alligators" than catch and sell like the other guys.
We have been RVing for many years. We started out with an A-Liner pop-up then moved to a FR Cherokee TT. From there we advanced to a FR Georgetown Gas model. Our next RV move was to a Diesel MH. When we first started looking at new units the Berkshires were "too big" at 40 ft, so we looked at other manufacturers which offered 35 ft MHs. Well, that was our first mistake. Yes, the 2013 Thor MH we bought was 35 ft, but that is pretty much where the "perfect for us" story ends. Let's just say the Thor wasn't built like a Forest River!!! So, in August of 2015 we came to our senses and realized we were very happy in the past with our Forest River products, and that that was where we needed to return to! After much research and deliberation we decided on the Berkshire 38A.
We were quoted the best price from Motor Home Specialist in Alvarado, TX. So we put in our order for our new 2016 Berkshire 38A and started the LONG process of waiting for our new MH to be completed. (It actually only took 2 months to get our order, but it felt like FOREVER!!). We finally picked up our new MH on 10/28/15 and we couldn't be happier with our choice! We knew as soon as we walked into our Berkshire that we had made the right choice. It had a homey, warm feeling that maybe we imagined because we were so happy, but we swear it was there!
MHSRV was fabulous to buy from! They took excellent care of us from the moment we stepped onto their lot. From offering us a complimentary loaner car to use while we were there, to letting us stay with them parked under a cover for 4 days while we completed our PDI, to giving us a bottle of wine and new floor mat for our coach. We even used their loaner car to drive the 45 miles into Dallas to go to the JFK Museum/Book Depository (which was a fantastic museum if you ever get the chance to go!).
So here we are, ready to start our FROG journey! We look forward to meeting new friends along the way! Thank you to all of you that have already been so kind and inviting to us!
Happy Trails,
Rick and Karen
