Hello from San Diego

We just purchased a FR Stealth Evo 2300 Trailer. We are upgrading from a pop-up trailer. We are hoping to get many years of camping with our new trailer.

Welcome aboard and congrats on your new Evo! I'm not sure which model it was but I fell in love with how the Evo looked at the RV show.

Any plans yet on where you will be heading for your maiden voyage? I'm always looking for good spots.

Maiden voyage

It is the Evo 2300 which is a 23' box with bunks in the rear with a dinette slide out. We took it to a local campground for a shakedown weekend and have plans for a trip to Lake Tahoe soon.

Sorry - I was talking about the Evo I was looking at. I do a lot of camping at San Clemente but I like South Carlsbad too.

Oh got it. Sorry my misunderstanding. We like going to Dos Picos county park in Ramona CA. W/E for $63 a weekend. We also camp at south Carlsbad each spring break week.

Are there any electrical hook ups (selected sites) at Carlsbad yet?

Hey all... I'm a fellow San Diegian and just bought my first FR Toy Hauler. Where should the wife and I take her on her maiden voyage. Most coastal camp sites seemed to be booked through the summer.

@Terier SC State Beach has water & elec in the first 6 or so campsites immediately south of the camp store/ranger station. 2 years ago they said the would charge more for those sites but as of last September when I reserved mine they were not. Bluff side still $50/n and inland $35/n. I am reserving sept 1 for spring break 2015 and will check them again. I am not willing to pay more for W/E so I won't use them but will be good to know.

@shooterguy we like to camp at both Sweetwater summit and Dos Picos county parks. They both have W/E and are very inexpensive and nice. If going to Sweetwater stay in the upper area that is new. Big sites, easy to get in and out, asphalt pad. If going to Dos Picos watch for site length and if the site allows slide outs (if you have any). The upper area is all gravel pads so we try to stay in the lower area. You can reserve on their website just google San Diego county parks camping. Good luck.

I just check ReserveAmerica and it states "availability of electricity is indefinite at this time". I had hope by now they would had the electricity turned on since it been over a year since making the selected sites with hook ups.

Please do let me know if you find out otherwise.
