Hello from Saskatchewan - land of the Living Sky

Hello all,

Just joined up today. I picked up a used 2008 Palomino P280 Pony Pop Up Trailer.

I have been a long time camper since I was a kid, and continues with my own kids wife.

Most of our camping has been tenting. I did have a tent trailer for a few years, but the Egyptian Cotton Canvas got wet one winter a rotted away.

Now that the Kids are older, and I'm getting older, and the wife is no longer keen on sleeping on the ground, we started looking a around and settled on this small nice looking unit for the two of us.

Going through the unit, brought a few questions to mind, and although I have the original owners manual,, it is seriously lacking.

Setup and tear down is super simple and I can do it all by myself in about 10 - 15 mins. It tows super easy but I do need to get my car trailer wiring re-done.

I think that's about it for now. I will cruse the forums to look for some of my answers, maybe help a few others along the way.

Darcy

Welcome from Wisconsin.

For a few suggestions to make getting help easier always give the year, make and model of your RV. When it comes to appliances there are just a few companies that make them for RV's so whatever you have in your pop-up will also be in larger RV's.

Check this link by wmtire, it's one of the best you will find. New to RV's helpful hints by wmtire

The best thing you can do is take a couple of hours, or a day and locate everything in the camper. Write down the manufacturer and model number. Keep a copy of this info with the owners manual and at home. This info will very valuable when it comes time to get help. Say you have problems with your furnace, give the make and model number along with a description of the problem. Give as much information as possible. The more info you can give us with your question, the better we can help you.

Too many times we get questions like "My '___(insert appliance here)____' doesn't work. Please help!" These types of questions doesn't give us any info and we can only guess and you will get answers that don't apply.

There is a Library section on the forum that has downloadable documents for many items you find in your RV. Forest River Forums - Downloads

Most owners and service manuals can be found on the manufacture's web site.

Now go out and enjoy your 'new to you' popup, have fun and make memories.
