Cool Hello from Southeast Texas

Just wanted to say hello. I just purchased a 2014 V-Cross Platinum 365VSTB will pick it up next Tuesday. Also looking for input on Curt 20k slider 5th wheel hitch, any feed back would be appreciated.

Looking forward to some good times ahead.

Oh c'mon Ford, that's no way to welcome the new guy!

Welcome Bohunk. Where in SE Texas are you? I'm just up the road a bit from Houston. I have the Curt 20K slider, and it has been nothing but great for me. I have rarely used it (never "had" to use it yet...but just to make sure I remember how to use it). It is a heavy bugger if you want to take it out of the bed, but otherwise it has been great for me.

Let us know if you have any further questions...hope to see ya down the road!

Thanks for the welcome.

To Ford, I hope that doesn't happen to me. I have a Fifth Wheel but I did have a pretty hairy experience Utah two years ago in my MH. A big gust of wind hit me broad side and blew me on to the shoulder of the road!

365VSTB is a V-Cross 5th wheel, knucklehead in the rollover had a V-Cross TT

Welcome TB! I am in DFW area, came real close to ordering the 315VRL before settling on the HG that we did order.
Curious, one of the pluses I saw with the V-Cross was the fact that it seemed like you would damn near have to jack knife that 5th wheel to hit the cab due to the V, which would seem to mean that you would not need a slider at all, does your TV have a very short bed?

Rho Zeta: I have a 2013 Dodge 2500 crew cab, I believe the bed is 5'7". I was told by the dealer I wouldn't need the slider but, a couple hundred extra for the slider is cheaper than a rear window or cab repair if you were to get that far. Like someone else posted, it is better to have one and not need it than to not have one when you need it. I'm planning on taking the trailer on a 200 mile shake down trip next week will see how it handles.
