Hello from southern Illinois

Joined up because I'm trading for a 2012 Windjammer 3001w. Looking for all the info I can find on it.
We signed a year round lease in Florida and were looking for something to park there year round. Trade is pretty much done as soon as they prove to me that everything on the trailer works.

It's a long story, but last summer I bought a new jayco 23rb. We used it a little and I lived in it for a month while working at the refinery in Wood River, IL. (I'm drawing my pension but the union calls me out to work when the active members are all working and they need someone).

23 rb was too small for me, wife, and large labrador. Also the short bed was aggravating with my feet hanging off the end.

So wife fell in love with a sunset trailer 250rb. It's great for camping around here and to live in while working. We bought it but couldn't get a decent trade so put the 23rb up for sale.

I'm trading the 23rb for the Windjammer. It wore both of us out pulling the sunset trail down to Florida this winter so we decided to get a larger unit to just leave down there and the Windjammer will be that unit.

I don't think I'd want to pull the Windjammer all over with my 1/2 ton silverado but I'm sure I can get it down to Florida one time, and move it if I need to.

Welcome to the forums.

I like your idea of 2 campers. The Florida drive gets old every year and not towing would be great.

I don't know anything about the Windjammer, but thought I'd say Hi from S. IL. Not sure where you stay when not in WoodRiver, but I'm a little east in Edwardsville.

You also better have a good WDH even for the one time tow as you will need it. Later RJD

My home is in Marion, IL.

When at the refinery I prefer to stay at Bethmor Mobile Home Park in Bethalto, only 6 miles from the refinery and $325 per month.

I had to stay 2 weeks at the Red Barn Rendezvous campground at Edwardsville for 2 weeks last fall until there was an opening at Bethmor and it cost me a little over $200 per week, plus farther to work.

Either place beats a motel though.

Jayco wdh only had 8,000 pound bars on it (so I couldn't use it) so I'm making a deal with the dealer to put a heavier hitch on the windjammer. Going to use my sway control from the jayco.

Windjammer 3001W is now at my home, still hooked to truck. Electric tongue jack broke on the guy while he was putting on the wdh so I got a new one for free, luckily he wasn't hurt. They also put in a new main power connection cause they found a crack in the old one.

Need to buy some treated leveling and pad lumber and then move it into my shop, where it will stay till I take it to Florida.
