Smile Hello from Southern Maryland

We have been camping for about a year and a half and we love it. We are weekend campers (about 2 weekends a month) and so far have only been to two locations, the famous Fort Wilderness Campground at Disney and Bethpage Campground in Urbana, VA. We like Bethpage so much, we leased a lot for the past two seasons, hence the reason we camp every two weeks. It's a easy hour and half drive for us. The one true thing I love about camping are the people. You can always strike up a conversation with someone when it comes to camping. It's always nice to know that there are folks in the camping world you can always ask a question and receive a sufficient number of responses from knowledgeable folks. Please, don't hesitate to ask me anything as well.

Hello from WV. Agree with your comment about the people. All the campgrounds that we have been to everyone has been very nice. You can strike up a conversation with anyone and about anything. We have camped in Winchester VA, Gettysburg, WV and MD. Would like to go to OC and Myrtle Beach. Enjoy and keep making great camping memories.

Hiya tdebusk. Welcome to camping. We've been camping off and on for 20 years. It's a great way to relax and see things you wouldn't normally see.

PS. I grew up in the Cobb Island, LaPlata, Brandywine area.

Welcome to the forum from Charles County! If you are looking for a closer camp site try Point Lookout State Park. It doesn't have the amenities of Bethpage but it's a nice weekend trip.
