Hello from Stallings, NC!

My wife and I just purchased a '12 30QBSS. Only been out in it once, but planning another next weekend before winterizing it. Having a great time with it so far.

I'm still learning what all needs to be done to winterize, but after our trip next weekend, the plan is to drain all the tanks and water heater and flush the antifreeze through the system. Other than bypassing the water heater and draining it, is there anything else that should be done? Thanks!

Damprid.
For years we never had a problem with mice. Last year and this fall we did.
Freshcab repellent for mice. And a few mouse traps.
Bounce dryer sheets , use the whole (big) box
Im adding this to mine this year / Victor Mini PestChaser Night Light Rodent Repellers
mothballs in outside storage.
Steel-wool in hole openings where mice can get in
Drain your low point drains.
Remove all food
leave the fridge open

Wow! I grew up about a mile or so from Stallings!

As far as winterizing... where you live it is not like you get really, really cold there. You might want to just drain the water heater, blow compressed air through all the lines one-at-a-time with each faucet open, open the low point drains and blow air, and that is it.

I have used this method on several RV's over the last ten years or so with no issues. I just don't like having to deal with the antifreeze stuff anymore.

Anyway... enjoy the RV!

For winterizing, I use the pink stuff but many use the air compressor method, just make sure to keep the psi low enough not to damage pipes (I think it's 40 psi or somewhere around that. Do not forget to the outside shower when winterizing (if you have one). I also do the bounce dryer sheets and Clorox wipes on countertops and food cabinets before locking it up. This will kill the food smell. I leave an open bottle of peppermint oil with a piece of gauze sticking out of it in the trailer. Knock on wood never had a rodent issue yet. I also take out anything food related and all soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, meds etc that stay in it during season. These things can have attractive odors and done will change their texture if they freeze. Also make sure you empty your fresh tank and grey tank. I put pink stuff in my black tank as it should never sit empty. Make sure you drain your hot water heater and then bypass it. You should only need 1-2 bottles of the antifreeze.

Thanks for the information. I've heard of using dryer sheets before, so we already have them scattered throughout the camper.

I was a little timid about blowing out the lines (wasn't sure about the pressure to use), but this information helps! Thanks!
