I purchased a beautiful Work n Play toy hauler and am enjoying it so much! Best of both worlds!
I unfortunately had my first issue this weekend. We were at a park where they told us they had to shut off the power. I thought I should shut off my A/C....when power was restored (about 2 hours later) I turned on the A/C however the compressor was not engaging. I realized the breaker had tripped. I shut off the A/C and restored the breaker. We then later smelled a strange odor coming from the back of the refrigerator (where the main plug is from the outside) It wasn't constant however was present. As we turned in for the night I could hear the A/C struggling and the power was briefly on/off.
We were leaving the next morning and I usually do...I turn off all appliances including the A/C. I then shut off breaker at the pedestal before unplugging from it. Once I unplug from the pedestal I unplug from the unit. I felt the plug extremely hot and as I unplugged it I realized the plug had melted into the female receptacle of the RV. I was wondering what anyone recommends at this point...
It may be too late, but this is who I chose to protect our rig as the very first addition to purchase because I don't trust the countless campgrounds we use and their idea of good electricity.
