Hello from Tennessee

I've been a member since last year and have learned so much from all of your posts.

I'm pulling a Puma 22 krb with a Chevy Silverado 1500 with tow package and a WDH. My longest haul so far has been to Greer's Ferry in Arkansas.

Our next trip is going to be to Henderson Beach State Park in Destin. Two weeks and we can't wait! I was wondering, does anyone know of a couple of good out of the way local places to eat? We're not really into the Bubba Gump's or Joe's Crab Shacks, not that there's anything wrong with them, just not our style.

Welcome to the forums from SoCal! Lurkers are always welcome but I'm glad that you are activity on the forums now. I love beach camping so you upcoming Henderson Beach trip sounds like lots of fun.

Hopefully someone will be able to offer some suggestions of local places to eat. I don't wander far from home so I can't be of much help.

Happy camping!

For good eats go to Dewey Destin's, the original one on Calhoun Avenue (not the one on the harbor). Not fancy, a seafood restaurant of yesteryear.

Also, The Lighthouse Restaurant, they moved last year after many years to 757 Harbor Blvd., near Old Time Pottery and Destin Cinema. Been in Destin for years. Good food, 1/2 off many entrees before 6PM.

Way out the way of the tourist area of Destin is Stinky 's Fish Camp in Santa Rosa Beach...about 20 min drive east of Destin (depending on traffic)...great food and casual crowd!
