Hello from Texas!

Craig here, and my wife and I bought our first travel trailer 2 weeks ago! We purchased a 2013 Wildwood X-Lite 275JM, and we love it! We already took it out for a weekend at a nearby campground, and it is going to be a good fit for us for quite some time. We are thinking of keeping it 5-7 years, and then trade up into something a little bigger, perhaps with some slides, and maybe a 5'r. I have been all over this forum, reading and learning various things since we got it. I hope to share with the forums, as well as I continue to take and learn.

Welcome from the countryside of north central Texas. In what part of Texas do you live?

Hi Texas. California here. We have taken our motorhome to Texas several times to visit family. Frost, Cleburne and Ft Worth. Texas has the best rest areas and State Park campgrounds. You will have great enjoyment in your trailer I'm sure.

Welcome from a fellow camper in the DFW area. When it opens again, I suggest Lake Whitney State Park for a close by camping venue. Post pics of your first outing...we LOVE pics!!

We've already been out on our first adventure, we had to take it out on our first weekend! We went to Tres Rios in Glen Rose. Although it's a membership park, we sat through their really long presentation and got to camp for the weekend for free. The park seemed nice, although not much shade, but it was relaxing, which was the main goal! My wife and I had a friend come out with us, and we ended up tubing down the Brazos river, it was a great weekend!

First pic is hooked up at the house fixing to head out, second pic is setup at camp. Then a few from tubing

Went to visit our son when he was staying at Tres Rios--we had lunch with them in town then went back to rv area and played poker with some of the other campers. Came home that night but would like to go back some time. Love that area. Looks like you and your family have begun making some great memories! TFS the pics

Good recommendation. Lake Whitney. Been there and it was such a great park. Cheap too.

Welcome to the forum from Corpus Christi, TX. You should look into getting a TX state park annual pass, the parks are great, nicely shaded and no day fees for the park with the pass. Plus its a lot cheaper to stay at them versus the concrete private parks.

Had ours for three years now. By the third camping trip, it was paid for!
