Hello, from the edge of Normal...

Normal Illinois that is. My wife and I are new GT owners having purchased a 2014 328 on Easter weekend. We drove from the dealership straight to our first campsite, and have been out several times since. It's kind of fun wondering how many fun weekends we can enjoy while still using the dealership's gas. I have thoroughly enjoyed the FRF, and have learned a good deal about what to expect AND how to manage. In short, the issues list with our GT has started to take shape, but nothing too crazy. The biggest story so far was the ER visit I had to take when I knocked myself unconscious on the corner of the back slide out. After a few staples to the melon, and a bit of embarrassment about the ambulance ride from the campsite, it's all better now.

We look forward to sharing some of our experiences and modifications with FRF folks, and to seeing as much of our great country as we can through the huge windshield afforded by the GT. However, we really look forward to opportunities to make new friends in the MH community.

CHEERS!!

Sorry about the head. I have seen people place 1/2 inch pipe insulation on the slides to prevent that from happening, just a thought.
Glad to have a new camper, you will enjoy a LOT.

Welcome to the forum. Just a thought, take a pool noodle, cut it to the right size and slip it over the slide so you won't wack your head again.

I'd actually read about the pool noodle fix, and had a couple of close calls with the slide out before the real head banger happened. I guess I'm a slow learner. However, good friends bought me a noodle as a joke. I used it!

I wondered about that, but thought this odd blue might just add a bit better visability. Thanks for the suggestion.

Gheesh, I came so close to doing that several times. Corner bumpers help take the sting out of the collision. Click below.
