Hello from the Thousand Islands, NY.
My hubby and I picked up our 2019 Rockwood Mini Lite 2509S on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
We both retired in June of 2016. In the fall of 2016, we took a month to travel to the gulf coast of Alabama for the winter. We towed a 40' Big Horn fifth wheel. While we enjoyed the journey, we made the decision to leave the fifth wheel on our RV site in Alabama and travel home staying in cabins and hotels. Oh boy, that is not economical nor very pleasant compared to RVing.
June 2017 we decided to trade our F350 diesel dually for the F150 and purchase an inexpensive travel trailer to make the trek back to Alabama in the fall. Great decision for us.
After spending a month in the fall and 3 weeks in the spring traveling south and north, we made the decision to sell the travel trailer and purchase a Rockwood.
The hardest part of finding the perfect unit for us was to find the length, under 26', which had a queen bed, slide, and extra sleeping space. The salesmen continued to show us units too long. The length of under 26', bumper to tongue, not the living space. Try getting that through the salesmen's heads.
Bigger is not always better. When we travel we try very hard to stay off the interstates, which puts us on roads that, well, are not meant for the big rigs. Gas stations are not always RV friendly, shorter is much better. Campgrounds are not always big rig friendly either.
For our travels north and south, will be in comfort, both physically and mentally.
Happy travels to all.
