Smile Hello from Upstate NY

Totally newbie's to camping. Bought camper late Sept and in this area it's hit or miss in the fall. We have yet to camp any place then our back yard. Looking forward to our first year and learning from others.

Welcome from across Lake Ontario.

We’ve camped in numerous locations throughout the Adirondack Region.......beautiful country in that area.

Whereabouts up state?

Welcome! I cut my teeth backpack and tent camping in the Adirondacks. There are a plethora of beautiful places all around the area. And yes, as you've said, it's hit or miss in the fall. We tried to do some October camping this past year and let's just say we burned a lot of propane on those 40 degree nights.
I'd really recommend a full hookup site your first trip out so you can learn all of the systems and get the full benefit of your RV. Check with your local RV shops for seminars, I found these the most helpful, even if they were trying to sell you accessories.

You're just a hop skip and a jump away. It will be an interesting 2019 for us. This area is great and has lots of places to visit to start with.

Have a sister up by you in Geneva, I know what you mean by that weather. At least you got the chance to do a yard camp, I didn't get mine until way down in the Fall, so it was too cold to test plumbing, which I am anxious to do as before our first trip the end of April. Going to give it a trial run in the driveway before then. The temp gauge in my trailer was showing zero deg F. in the mornings over the weekend!
