Hello from Virginia!

Got my 2012 Forest River Surveyor Select this spring. I love the camper!! It's a 26-foot Travel Trailer. I have a 2004 Ford F250 Diesel to pull it with, so there's no trouble with weight. Even completely full (water, food, gennie, fuel, etc) the camper and truck have no problems. As I live in the Shenandoah valley, just about anywhere I want to go means up and over the mountains. I find the truck pulls the camper fine.

I've been on two trips so far. In both excursions I have been out "boondocking", so I've been using my Boliy inverter generator. I love that gennie! Can't say enough good things about the Boliy. As quiet as the best Honda, but at $900 for the 3500, it's a much better buy.

Mostly I'll be out in the National Forest (if they ever open again!!) and boondocking. I don't see a lot of hook-ups in my future! I just want a comfy place to stay while I'm out in the most beautiful places in the world. I do a good amount of hunting, and this camper will make those trips much more pleasant!! I've already kicked the little chemical toilet to the curb. SOOOO happy to get rid of that thing!! Anyone want to buy a 10x12 canvas wall tent and wood stove???

I look forward to sharing my experiences (and lessons...I like to prove I'm human a lot...) and hope to learn a lot here. My next steps are to add solar panels, a 2nd battery and an inverter (I want to have coffee without starting up the gennie).

Wow! Folks from all over! Taylorgso, I'm in the very Northern tip of Virginia. Way closer to West VA than anything else. Northern Shenandoah valley, East of Winchester though. I live in the smallest county in Virginia, Clarke County. It's a more-cow-than-people kind of place. MtnGuy, I hope one day to have a map filled in like that. Are the colored states the places you've been with the camper?

Thanks for all the replies. I look forward to chatting with you all!!
