Hello From Williamsburg, VA
Hello from Williamsburg, VA. We're just finishing up our first outing with our brand new 2015 Windjammer 3006WK. We picked her up from Dodd RV in Yorktown, VA on Friday, 6/13 and left less than 18 hours later headed to Ocean Lakes at Myrtle Beach, SC. I cant say enough good things about our new 'Jammer! We traded in a 2010 Jayco Jayflight 26BH and the space difference is awesome!
Looking forward to being a member of the forum!
Cheers!

Welcome , I purchased my Windjammer from DODD rv also. I just got back from Hatteras. Myrtle Beach is on my list to do. I also tow mine with a F250 5.4 great on flat land, struggles a little on hills. Does yours tow fine. Also I am having trouble unhitching the unit, so far Dodd has replaced the coupler the in on the trailer..Good people to work with. You will really enjoy you jammer. Good luck. Chuck in Va

Chuck - my 250 tows pretty good! I haven't been on too many real steep inclines, but it does good on the slight ones I have tackled! We are heading up and over Afton Mountain in August and i'm a little nervous about that. It should just squat and go, but I wont be winning any races!
As far as unhitching goes - I haven't had any trouble yet! Hopefully it'll stay that way!
Having two young kids (5 & 2), the front bunkhouse in the 3006 works really well for us! I cant wait to get it back out again in a couple of weeks!

Thank you for your service.
Welcome to the forum and welcome to the Windjammer family! We've had our 3008W for about 14 months and have put almost 15,000 miles on it, and travelled to 15 states. Absolutely love it!

Thanks for your service and congrats on your new trailer. Your 5.4 will do fine on Afton Mtn. I had a 2010 5.4 that was totaled by a kid who ran a red light that towed fine. I love my EcoBoost, but if not for the wreck, I would still be using the 5.4. Enjoy your new camper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't plan on winning any races, then you are good to go.
The 5.4 L in my truck pulls Afton Mtn in 2nd gear. I am pretty sure that it would pull it at 65 mph in 2nd, but I don't like to rev the engine......I seldom let the tach go over 3500 rpms. I just let it settle down to about 55 mph and keep in the slow lane. I also try not to let it downshift to 2nd unless I am in the 55 mph range, again so I won't rev the engine.
