Hello out there.New Guy here in Spencerport,NY.
Ok my parents years ago had a Honey camper, moved to a bigger Travel Trailer and then up to a 31' 5th wheel.I never thought I'd be interested in camping/etc.but getting close to retirement we went all the way and bought a 2013 Forest River 31' 5th wheel. Now I hope we can get out there and travel. And get away from the upstate NY winters for a few months

Hi neighbor! We're from Hilton, NY. At this point I'd settle for getting away from Western NY summer rains. Have you done a shakedown cruise yet?

Hamlin is where we did our shakedown as well. If you haven't camped there before, let me know, I can list some of the better sites for you. The best part of camping is that most campers will help you out if you have questions. The people on this forum are awesome. Check the sub forums for your particular rig. These guys know pretty much everything. If you have questions about your tow vehicle, use the search box for tow vehicle, cause, again, these guys know everything.

Hi,
Congrats on your new rig. Welcome to the forum from Bainbridge, Ohio.
You sound like you already have figured out your truck is too small. The people on here will tell you why if you ask.
Happy camping!

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you may have max out your truck. May want to rethink any long hauls for now. Later RJD

Yep, you may be over the Chevy's payload amount, with the 5th wheel's loaded pin weight.

As long as you have proper weight distribution and sway control equipment, you should be fine going from Sppt to Hamlin. The Parkway roadway is extremely rough just before you get to the park. It will test your equipment without putting you into real jeopardy. Good luck finding 2 weekend days together without rain.

The OP has a 5th wheel, not a TT.
