Hello from Southern Indiana

We have never camped before and bought our very first TT - a 2018 Rockwood 2507s at the RV show back in January. Did our walk-through in February and she's been sitting in my drive ever since. We took everyone's advice and bought the trailer first and then went to get a truck to match what we needed to tow it. "No problem." everyone said. Ha! Unless you wanted to buy a new truck for $65-70,000 or a used junker with 190,999 miles on it for $39,000 you were out of luck. Finally found what I wanted 2 weeks ago and it will be here next week. But, she's all loaded and ready to go on her first outing July 13th. We'll See how this goes. There may be a slightly used RV for sale here after that.

Welcome from Southern Illinois.

Edit:
Do a couple of shot trips to learn about it, setup & take down and all the little stuff, before any major road trip. Oh, I forgot to tell you about the major mistake everyone makes. I do not know what it will be but we have all done one or two.
Take it in stride and enjoy...

Finally got my son-in-law's 2015 Silverado 2500HD gas because he wanted a new diesel one for the farm. BUT, I got it with only 26 K miles, an extended 70 K bumper to bumper warranty and paid about $10,000 less than market value for it. Plus, he's putting new running boards on it for me.

Hello from across the bridge director. Did you buy from Admiral's Anchor over there? We just picked up a Vengeance 25V from them.

Bought the trailer then . . .SURPRISE!

Bought our Rockwood Mini Lite from Camper's Inn (Tom Stinnett) in Clarksville, IN. Never having even gone camping before we were caught totally unaware about the additional $2-3,000 in additional "stuff" you must have before you can actually go camp. Everything from sewer hose to linens, weight distribution hitch to toilet enzyme, drinking water hoses to a backup camera system. It is a never-ending list that someone should have warned us about. And, this doesn't even touch on the modifications I will have to make to the truck such as adding towing mirrors, brake controller, and the wiring plug.

Youtube is your friend. Start by searching for info specific to your model. Then look for general knowledge like, " How to set up our camper" or " Tips to remember when towing", " How to use a dump station", etc. SO much info that will save you money and frustration. Good luck.

We have spent the last 5 months reading everything we can find and watching all the YouTube videos from Long Long Honeymoon (LoLoHo) and lots of others.

Good deal. A few miles under your belt to apply the knowledge and you'll be in great shape.
