Hey! from Chicago Northwest Burbs

New to this site but a long time RV'er. Currently own a 2006 Forest River Georgetown 326DSF XL and love it. Nothing like driving a class A. Can't wait for spring break. Goin' back to Disney Fort Wilderness.

Welcome to the forum. I just returned home from visiting my mother-in-law in Mount Prospect. We got there while it poured rain and made the rivers rise. Luckily it did not affect us.

Hey Dodge Guy,

I'm not far. Up in Cary.

We had a couple TT's. The last one was a 32' Dutchmen. We loved it. I'm still 20 years from retirement, but for some reason I decided I wanted to live the class A life now (even though it's only for vacations). It's an awesome way to travel. You feel on top of the world driving the thing, no white knuckes or problems with needing more power, now sway, etc. Easy stops along the way. The kids love that the bathroom, micro, and tv/dvd, beds are available during travels. The dogs love it too. Obviously the MH is another vehicle to maintain mechanically and there are other downsides, but I have no regrets that I took the plunge when I did. When RV'ing is in the blood it becomes your hobby and passion.

Hi Dodge Guy,

We are in South Elgin, but I grew up in Bartlett. Nice to see some "neighbors" on the site!

Have to agree with the comfort of the ride down the road. We travel to Myrtle Beach each summer and it takes about 9 - 10 hours to get there. I'll drive for about 4 hours or so, pull into a rest area and take a quick nap or get something to eat. It really helps to keep my mind and attention fresh.
We've had our Georgetown 370 for a little over 2 years. It's definitely less worry than the 5 plus years I pulled a trailer. More maintenance, but well worth it. Hopefully gas prices will remain low, who thought $1.50 a gallon would ever be seen again?
Happy motoring, be safe!

Dodge Guy, we have a TT not a 5'er. Maybe in the future, once the kids are out of the house, we'll get one. But the RV show is coming up next month so you never know.
