Hey Y'all from Western MD

New to the forum but not to camping. Have made the progression over the past 30+ years from tents to pop-ups to hybrid (2008 Rockwood Roo 23SS) and just pulled the pin on a Flagstaff Super Lite 27BESS this evening.

I've already found some good info relating to power awnings (something new to me)... and I'm sure there will be more in this gold mine.

Welcome and congratulations on the new camper. You're in the right spot for information, but you know that. We did over 20 years of tent camping before buying our XLR earlier this year don't know why we didn't do it earlier. What a great way to enjoy the great outdoors without trying to get off the ground in the am. Ha ha. You made a much better transition then us ! Congrats !

I'd like to think we "savored" every bit of the trials and tribulations of the different forms. We actually did, but, like with retirement, I knew when it was time to make a change from one form to the other. To be honest, I thought the Roo was going to be the last we would purchase. I just dropped it off to the new owners last night and I was sad to see it go. It is a quality piece and looked as good yesterday as the day I picked it up in March of 2008.
Thanks for the welcome... and it's always great to kick some tires, sit around the camp fire and discuss what we like to do.

Welcome fellow marylander. We have not progressed past the PUP stage yet but love every minute out camping. Enjoy your new camper and maybe we will see ya out and about.

Some of our favorite spots are out here in Western MD or close by: Swallow Falls, Seneca Rocks, Blue Knob and Raystown Lake. Once I get things squared away, I'll post a couple pictures and you can just look for the rig. Usually, it's just me, DW and our three furkids - all rescue shelties. Occasionally or son tags along for some hard earned R&R.

Thanks for the shout-out!

Yes we do! Remember, we're just below the Mason-Dixon line. Plus, I'm married to a West Virginian... you don't think some of that doesn't wear off, do you?

Not sure, I think the new trailer has a remote.... I know we looked at one that has a remote, just can't remember which one.

The Flagstaff is coming from Keystone. Any thoughts? If so, PM me. Hope to get down there and pick it up sometime this week!
