HI

Hello All ,
We are a male/female couple in our 50's , Both are life long campers/hikers and enjoy riding our old Schwinn bicycles.

We have camped in everything from tents all the way up to a 31 ft, 2-1/2 ton travel trailer . The most fun we had was with our 1985 VW Westfalia camper bus but quickly out grew it.

We sold our 1999 Cameo 31 ft. a few weeks ago and bought a brand new Shasta Airflyte 16 ft. retro and LOVE every thing about it .
Our 2003 F250 tows it like a dream (5.4 L with a 6 speed manual trans )

Our first day picnic at Lake Cadillac last week end . We give all our 'toys' names-this is our Shasta named "squatty'

Thanks for having us !
Daisy

Welcome to the forums! The Shasta units looks cool. BTW why do you need to wait for the license plate to arrive before your first trip?

Thanks for the welcomes , everyone !
We didn't get a temp./paper plate when we bought it , the dealer said 'if' we get pulled over to show the bill of sale and it shows that the plate was ordered . So we don't want to go too far from home just yet .

Something else-These Shasta re pops do not come with a spare tire , when they re issued them the company stayed very true to the 1961 models and the originals didn't come with a spare either .

Lets be honest , the originals were low level (cheap) little trailers and Shasta stayed with that thyme . At best it's a 3 season trailer - Don't think it would do very well in snow and ice . That's OK with us and we knew that before we bought it . Over the last year we did a lot of research on these re issues so we knew it's high and low points up front .

The best part for us , we paid cash for it > NO PAYMENTS
It is fully insured for about $15.00 a month .

Thanks again , I really like this site !

I'm surprised the dealer didn't put on a temporary paper plate especially since it's free advertising for them. If out of stock most dealers would had taken one off another unit on the lot. Remember it's free advertising.

The important point is that you are OK with the delay and that's what count. BTW I agree that Squatty looks cute.
