Hi All

Hello everyone!

I just bought a 8311SS - my first RV and had the pleasure of towing it on its maiden voyage from Michigan to Home in West Virginia in the recent snow storm. I have only had this thing a few days and already full of adventure!

My wife and I are looking forward to spring so we can get camping. We are looking to take some short trips to local areas this first year and then plan a long cross country trip next year. Anyone have any good MD, WV, Or PA sites they can recommend for some rookies?

Hope everyone had a great New Year!

Dave

Hello and congratulations on your new RV. We are from the eastern panhandle of WV. What part of WV are you from? We go to candy hill in VA. Harpers Ferry koa and Antietam koa in MD. Drummer Boy and Battlefield in pa. If you like the state Parks Greenbriar in MD and Cowans Gap in pa. Yogi Bear in MD if you have kids. Have fun and enjoy your new camper.

Welcome! Nothing is worse than looking at your camper parked outside covered in snow. Especially if you haven't had a chance to use it yet! Only 3 more months to go. Seems like an eternity from where we're sitting.

I did my weekly check on of our camper on Tuesday and found no leaks, discoloration, bubbles, etc. anywhere inside or out. It's been covered in snow and ice now for about 2 weeks. Can't wait until it warms up a bit so the snow melts off. Still too cold to try that winter camping at the local state park. Has to be above freezing before I'll venture out.

You'll find all sorts of valuable information on this forum. And the only dumb question is the one that is never asked. So ask away!!

I am from the Keyser WV area. It is really close to Cumberland Md. Thanks for the list of the sites you visit. I will be looking at them on line over the winter to plan some trips! We have one child now and have one scheduled to show up in May. I will get a few weeks off for the new arrival and if the wife is up for it I imagine we will be traveling around a bit during that time.

Congrats on your 8311SS! Sounds like you got the advanced course with towing in snow especially with it being your first RV.
