Hi all - Need direction on FR brand quality

Hi... New FR forum user here.

What is the best forum location to post questions on differences between the Forest River travel trailer brands?

I'm new to the travel trailer market, and having difficulty distinguishing the build quality, finish quality, material durability, etc amongst the various Forest River brands. I'm guessing there are 'good, better, best' brands within the Forest River lineup. I've been to a couple of dealers and shows, so I know general features to look for... but for example... the phrase 'solid surface counters' doesn't exactly help when each brand has a different marketing definition of 'solid surface'. Unfortunately, the product specifications and website literature just doesn't go into enough detail to draw a conclusion. Everything sounds like it is the best.

Thoughts?

As I see it & from what I've observed as a FR product owner, Forest River has "acquired" several RV companies over the years and keeping them as separate divisions of FR. Each of those companies had their own versions of good, better, best in their product lines. Even after coming under the Forest River "umbrella" their original "vision" (with some changes to conform to FR's business model) is allowed to continue.

The longer you look, the more you will be able to pick between the differences in quality. Don't be afraid to touch, wiggle & look at quality of construction. Your basic components will be the same with minor differences along the good, better, best scenario (ie; larger or residential appliances). Most of your differences will be found in the quality of cabinetry......real wool framing vs. pressboard, solid wood doors vs. laminated (woodgrain paper) pressboard, quality & feel of furniture (name brand), plastic vs. ceramic toilet etc.

Your budget will also tend to dictate what is available to you but, take your time, research (this forum & others) & check several different dealers. Not all dealers can carry all of FR's product lines or all of each divisions different models. We searched for 3 years & kept "coming back" to this model. As DW always says...."when it hits you, it hits you"!

Suggest you find a Floorplan you like and see which brands have one like it.
Then compare standard features and options between brands. The better quality brands will have standard features that are options with other brands.
Generally filon-sided/aluminum framed trailers will be higher level, than stick and tin trailers.
