Hi from a Lousiana

We are finishing a 10 day trip in our new 2015 Coachman Freedom Express. Have had very few problems, most were due to our mistakes and all very minor. Very well built trailer and the folks at Fun Town RV in Waco, TX did a very good job getting it ready. My only complaint is the clear skylight over the shower. It allows a lot of heat to come in, but covered with film. I had a Terry Dakota for 10 years, but it did not have the quality this Coachman has.

Welcome to the club, lots of LA folks here.

We should have a small FROG meet up somewhere.

Waco, TX....perhaps you're near the TX border? La Bossier or S'port?

as wmtire said in the other new Louisiana member thread;

we're up here in the home town of the duck dudes.

Welcome from Natchitoches. I agree with campin Cajun. An autumn rally would be nice.

And make it mid state instead of New Orleans/Baton Rouge area.

I agree or maybe North State but we do have a nice State Park here Bogue Chitto, but I like the Parks in North part of state best.

I wouldn't suggest North, as that's where we are, so that'd be selfish of me. If up here I'd suggest Jimmie Davis State park, aka Caney Lake. Shaded sites, nice laundry/bath houses.

Poverty Point Reservoir might be good for fall, but it's a new park, no adult trees yet, except those sites that are backed up to the woodline, so it's HOT in July/August. It has more for the kids....a splash pad, etc. Nice bath houses here too, not sure about laundry.

BOTH sites have fantastic fishing, both sites have marinas, though Poverty Point's marina is more developed...bait store, etc.

Both of these parks have spacious sites.

dcheatwood is in Natchitoches so he may know of some good mid-state locations.

Haven't been to many mid state ones but did attend the LA Good Sam rally in October 2012 in Marksville. Huge park with cabins. Clean, cement pads, some small trees but not a lot of shade. Its at the paragon casino so good restaurants. Rates were fairly cheap too. Pavilions, club house, pool but not much to do in Marksville unless you gamble, and I don't, but it is centrally located.
Over on the west central side is south Toledo bend state park and cypress bend. Both in Toledo Bend reservoir.

Is Chicot SP considered mid or north LA? I've been wanting to go there.

CG really doesn't matter to me as long as it's fairly level and has 50amp service.
