Hi from Arkansas

My husband and I bought a Salem 27DBUD a few weeks ago. This is our first camper and we are really enjoying it. I haven't used the outdoor shower yet but planned to use it to rinse off the grandkids before they come inside the camper. I was just noticing the outdoor shower is next to the 30 amp hookup. How dangerous is this and any suggestions about keeping the electric cord up in the air off the ground where I will be using the outdoor shower?

Welcome and congrats on your Salem 27DBUD. Think about it, everytime it rains the 30 AMP cord gets wet. You could build something like this to stand on or put the cord on while using the outdoor shower. Add an old bathmat if you like to keep the bottom of feet comfy. Link:

Welcome to the forums from Huntsville, AL!! Hope you enjoy your RV and your time in the forums.

X2 Wiscampsin and another handy use of the Outside shower...notice how close it is to the dump valves for your sewer? Coincedence? I think not!

Thanks, I will order that wood mat! I will also try to keep the cord as far away as possible.

Bob, I will mention to my husband the convenience of the shower being there to wash his hands after he visits the dump station. Duh, I don't think we thought of that! That is my husbands job and I watch; however after this past weekend watching someone accidentally dump their blue tote all over the ground while trying to it empty it I will be staying in the truck!!!

Welcome from your neighbor to the north, in Missouri (unless you're in a dry county, then )
