Hi from Munich, starting in Florida 1-2 years North America

Hi folks,

we´re just arrived from Germany and now we are proud owner of an 2004 Georgetown 326 DS

In our first week we got a fully reloaded start with: bursted windshield, lost rear window on highway, bursted tire and 2 water leaks... so we´re hoping tat we have now our incidents for the coming year and now everything will go smooth

We´re planing to go from FL in zic-zac to West to stay the winter in Baja California and hiding North next year towards Canada & Alaska

Looking forward to exchange our experience with you guys her ein the forum. And sorry for mistakes in grammar/ writing. English is not my mother tongue, but hope you understand everything

Tom

Hi there and welcome aboard! Wow- it does sound like you had a challenging start but hopefully things will turn around for you. Some day down the road you will have some great stories to share while sitting around the camp fire.

Welcome! We travel full time around the USA in our Georgetown and enjoy it very much. Two differences you will discover quickly are that North America has far greater distances to travel between cities than in Europe, and that gasoline is much less expensive here than in Germany. Have fun and enjoy your travels.

Welcome and happy trails. Sounds like an awesome adventure. Are you also going to visit the northeast as well?

Hello & Welcome to -----------

Hello & welcome to RVing and the US. I'm sure you will enjoy your visit and travels.

Also, as you may have read there is a "FROG (Forest River owners Group) INTERNATIONAL RALLY" in Goshen, Indiana in August 3-9 2014 that you would enjoy very much. Over 500 forest River RVs are already registered for the fun and enjoyment. FROG - Forest River Owners Group

Hope to see you there.

Welcome and enjoy your Georgetown and touring the US. As "Daisy Boykin" indicated be sure to read about the rally, it's in the near future, yet if you could make it to the rally, it would be a great way to start your adventure in the USA.

Keep us updated.

My husband, Ralph, lived in Frankfort for 3 years in the early 1990's. He enjoyed his experience in Germany.

Welcome from Texas. We lived in Horbach near Kaiserslautern for over 6 years. Loved every minute of it! We can back in of the middle of our time there and brought some German friends with us. They could not believe the distances you have to travel between towns here.
Hope you enjoy the states as much as we did your homeland!

We met a family from Holland last year while in Pigeon Forge, TN. They were doing the same thing except they rented a Class C for the journey through our amazing U S of A.

Five children 6-17 and one foster child, 5 years old. Their children asked for this journey, preferring to learn our history first hand instead of just through books.

Welcome to America!

Welcome and enjoy your travels. Lived in Germany for a few years and Europe for a decade which we really enjoyed. The shock most people have with the USA is the distances between places. A great way to find cool places to visit is places like this forum and talking to other RVers. Enjoy your extended trip and I hope the "glitches" are past you.

@chiefly1:
yeah, the distances are these things we love We´ve been in the US for the 4th time now. But the other 3 times were just "normal" vacations of 3 weeks each

@Iswartz:

If you are traveling through Alberta, Canada send me a PM. We have some beautiful, scenic countryside. Not much in the way of good RV parks around Calgary but I know a couple of good ones not far away that might help you.
