Hi from Northern California!

Hi! We just bought a 2017 Sonoma 167BH TT, and can't wait to pick it up on Friday! We also just bought a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 3.0L V6 Turbo EcoDiesel engine that we will be pulling it with.

I haven't seen many references to Sonoma trailers on these forums so far - guess we bought a newer model than we even realized when we were shopping.

We are not completely new to RVing, though it's been years since we've been able to go out camping. We have an old ~1992 27' Jayco motorhome that won't even start any more and that we are trying to figure out how to get rid of - any ideas of how to get rid of dead, old motorhomes gratefully accepted (KarsforKids says it's not worth it to them to pick it up...)!

We've spent a long time dreaming of when we could get back into RVing, but thought we wanted a small (preferably less than 24ft) 5th Wheel. When we were finally able to start looking, we quickly realized we'd have to get an older 5th wheel to get anything that small (unless we went with one of the little fiberglass type). After months of hunting online, driving around the state and looking at a few used 5th wheels, and also trying to find a good, used truck capable of pulling it and learning about the complexities of sliding hitches and flipping axles to get the height needed on the 5th wheel... we finally realized that our dream of a 5th wheel being easier to handle than a trailer was not going to be an easy reality, given that we wanted a small RV.

After just a bit of shopping, we quickly settled on our diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee and this 20ft Sonoma trailer. I hope we've made good choices! We have reservations for 2 nights of dry camping at a state campground on the beach next week for our first shake-down trip, and I can't wait!

Welcome to FRF from a former NorCal resident.
You're the first Sonoma owner I've seen on the Forum.
I would love to have one since I grew up in Sonoma Valley.

We don't even have a sub-forum for them
Are they built out West or in Indiana?

I don't actually know where they are built, that wasn't a question I thought to ask!

I just checked the Forest River website, though, and the contact info for sales or service on Sonoma's is in Rialto, CA - so that might imply they are built on the West Coast?

Hello and welcome from northern Arizona! Wife and I moved here from Sacramento in 2003. Spent a lot of years there and also Los Altos & Sunnyvale; graduated from Homestead High School in Cupertino a long time ago. Miss the "city" (S.F.) a lot! Happy Camping!

Another question - how do the Sub Forums get created? Would be awesome if there was one for the Sonoma trailers.

Hi pt1655! We know some kids who have graduated from Homestead!

Our youngest just graduated from Leigh High School, we were big Marching Arts booster parents... just finished a year of big (friendly) rivalry competition with Homestead in Indoor Percussion, both schools made it to the national finals competition. But our years as volunteer parents are done now, and we are looking forward to both family and empty-nester time in our new trailer!

There has to be enough owners of that new brand, to justify creating a new sub-forum.
As far as I know, you're the only Sonoma owner here so far.

For now, use the General TT/5th Wheel section to post in.

Thanks, that's what I'll do. Hopefully some more Sonoma owners will join soon.

Hello from Placer County, CA!
My husband and I are considering the same Sonoma model. Would love to hear your thoughts on your new trailer!
