Hi from Orlando!

Hello!
My wife Patty and I just purchased a cedar creek 30rl, which we hope to pick up next week. We've had a Glendale Titanium 24/29 for 7 years and we loved it but we've begun volunteer camphosting and decided it was time to move up to more room and features. We're really excited about our new purchase and can't wait to learn about and enjoy it. We're interested in any ideas and suggestions anyone may have for us for what we should pay the most attention to as we get our intro to the new camper next week! we'll definately be in touch!

Hi Chuck & Patty

Kris & I are from Orlando also. We just got a flagstaff v-lite 30wfkss. Going to Long Point Park in Brevard for our shakedown trip 11-19 Aug. If you havent been there we recommend it. It on the Indian River Lagoon, has a number of water front slots. THis will be our first long trip.

Insist on a great PDI and check out anything and everything before leaving the lot. Members have posted their PDI checklists so you might do a search and review the checklist. Take lots of notes and ask questions. Use your smartphone to take pictures or video tape when necessary.

If possible do a little driveway or backyard camping. This can help refresh your memory as you get to know your new camper. Enjoy learning about RVing and try not to sweat the small stuff.

Please do report back and let us know how you are enjoying your new RV.

Chuckinca, Long Point is very nice. Lot of waterfront lots, boat ramp, right on the Indian River, close to Sebastian and Vero Beach. We have been there 2 times in the last 2 years. This will be our first long trip and looking forward to it.

Terier, this is our 2nd trailer. we upgraded from a 21 foot Jayco Skylark to the 30 Ft. V-Lite so we can take our dogs with us and we needed more room for us also. We have been going to state parks here in Florida. Now that wife and I are both retired we will be doing more long trips. Thanks for the suggestions.

Oops - sorry about that. You even mentioned it but I missed it. I also like state parks but longer trips sounds even better. BTW pictures are welcome.

congrats on the new camper purchase

I have been to Long point a few times and also love Long Point as well

I also prefer alot of the state parks - many to be had within 2 hours of Orlando

Terier: We will be posting pictures. We love to hike and see nature.

Sherdep: Yes Florida has some great state parks. We have been to several including Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park (Great for star gazing), Blue Springs, Anastasia, Lake Kissimmee State Park, and several others.

Congrats!
We love Long Point! We have been several times in the last two years.
One suggestion I have, bring plenty of musquito repelant as the musquitos and no-see-ums can get pretty bad (especially on scout island). We find the off clip-ons and therma-cell work well.

Thanks for the advice on the Off Clip ons. We have been to Long Point twice in the past but that was in Nov. so far less bugs. We were there for the Sebastian Clam Bake they usually have in early Nov. This year iit is Nov 2-4 Sebastian Clambake Foundation.

Sounds like a nice park. Will have to visit when I'm visiting my son in Orlando.

It is a nice park. Right next to Sebastian Inlet State Park. 113 Sites on the water. Fish in backyard .
