Welcome from PA - originally from Syracuse NY and my favorite camping spot is up there in your neck of the woods on the St. Lawrence!
Have some great friends that live in Brownsburg-Chatham Quebec that we met, ironically, camping this summer!

We camped last August at Wellesley Island State Park in NY, just up Rt. 81, north of Alexandria Bay- we have been there a few times and love it! I grew up tent camping in Clayton at Cedar Point State Park on the St. Lawrence. I think I have River water in my blood - to me, it's the most beautiful place in the world!
We will be up again this summer for sure. We hope to come to Quebec soon too to visit our friends up there. Ironically, my father's family is French-Canadian from Montreal but I have never been there! And my father made me take Spanish in high school because he said it was "more useful." Even though my great-grandparents only spoke French!

Very interesting my parents use to take us 5 kids (back in the late 60s) tent camping every weekend at Rollins Pond State park near Malone NY. Remember sitting around the campfire and listening to Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. Took my kids back there about 6-7 years ago. Still a great place to camp

What a small world! Rollins pond was one of the first places we ever camped when I was a child!! My grandmother moved to Malone from Quebec when she got married.
My Mom tells the story of camping in Rollins Pond back when they had big barrels for the trash all around the campground and the bears would come at night. She said she decided to start going to the River instead of the Adirondack then because she was terrified with 3 little kids in a tent while the bears foraged through the campsite. 😊

We would go out to the store at the front gate they had a dump and we would watch the bears there. They still had the bakery truck and the knife/axe sharpener going around the park

Wow! Good to hear some things never change after all. 😊
What do you camp in now? Do you ever come over towards the 1000 Islands region?

You seem to be approx 4 hours from here. If that suits you exit 36 about 2 minutes from the exit, there is a little camping called Camping Domaine du Bel-Age. Never been there but seems to be nice, mostly seasonner. Type in the name in bing and you'll find it easely. Next option is exit 35 at Walmart if that suits you. If one of these are ok for you let me know and i'll double check on exit number, it's only 1 kilometer from my home......
