Thumbs down High winds & Slide covers

When slides extended high winds cause slide cover to billow & howl. Has anyone had this experience or have a solution?

We had this issue on the Gulf Coast last year. Our pool noodle & yarn solution also helps shed water as the topper is relatively flat......

Not that, but I have had heavy snow on the toppers and they wouldn't retract. Perhaps some of these same solutions might apply, but I would have to remove them and that might defeat the purpose.
