Hoosier Hello!

Hello everyone from southern Indiana!

We bought a 2018 Rockwood Ultra Lite 2608WS yesterday! Been camping my entire life but from tents so I'm excited to start this luxury living journey. ;-)

We haven't had any time with it yet (obviously) but have set it up in the drive-way and plan to go through all the systems and put some stuff in it and head out soon!

Thanks everyone!

Got it opened up last night to discovery the shower doors had exploded all over the bathroom! We bought it Monday and towed it four hours home so something happened during transit. Glass was even on the soap dish in the shower so they must have exploded pretty good!

Got a call in to the dealer. Welcome to RV life, eh? ;-)

Welcome from western PA.

We spent a week at Illini SP last year while visiting inlaws near Chicago. Take your trailer out for a weekend as a shakedown cruise and make a list of what you forgot (and what you want to change).

Welcome from a fellow Evansvillian! I know there's more here from E'ville too.

Sorry to hear you had trouble with your unit already. Hopefully something can be worked out so you can have the work done locally without driving 4 hours back to the dealer. This is a big reason why we decided to buy locally for situations like this.

Happy Camping and

Thanks!

We would have preferred local but nobody had the units we wanted to actually sit it and see before deciding. We also didn't feel very welcomed at the local dealer. Hopefully I can get the doors sent to me and I can just repair myself. We are debating whether we even want to fix them. We may just hang a curtain in the doors location.

Welcome!! Sounds like it wasn't latched, good news it's under warranty. I bought mine in Ohio and drug it to Kansas. I found a Coachmen dealer here who has been wonderful to work with. Remember the service department is getting paid by warranty, business is business so they really don't care where you bought it. I just noticed your other reply. Your going to have other bugs to work out, find a nearby shop and let them do the work. If you use a shower curtain and have water damage, they can blame that, installed yourself same thing. I had a 2001 Winnebago, kept it together with bubblegum and duct tape, I'm not fixing much of anything let the warranty work. It provides a trail of issues for you.

Thank you! Actually, it was. I have a picture of the latch, still latched, in the VERY large pile of glass! Pretty crazy but for now we've just put in a curtain and going to run it through its paces this weekend at a local RV park.

Good to know about the warranty though! I left a message for the service department of the place we bought it but they haven't returned my call. Not giving me a warm and fuzzy that's for sure.

We have a Forest River dealer local but they didn't show up on the dealer finder on their website which I thought was odd. I'll just have to give them a call and see.

Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone!
