Howdy

Nice place you all have here. I've already learned some things lurking for a few days.

My wife, daughter, and two dogs will be camping for the first time this weekend in our 2009 Rockwood 2306. My tow vehicle is a 2005 Expedition. I can't wait to finally use the TT somewhere other than my driveway.

We are starting out at a state park 15 minutes from home. It is our first TT so we have quite a bit to learn. We were frequent tent campers before our daughter was born and are looking forward to getting back into it now that she's able to walk and talk.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hi. I'm sure I'll have a few stupid questions after this weekend (if not before).

Welcome to the FRF Hawkeye. Remember, the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask, so ask us anything you want to. Someone here will be able to answer them.

It is a good idea to go somewhere close to home the first time out. That way if you forget something, you can easily go get it. We have two Blue Ridge Parkway campgrounds within 30 minutes of our home and its a whole different world. We just don't have to drive far to get there.

Enjoy the first trip and let us know how it goes.

Hey Hawkeye and welcome. Without giving away your wife's age (which is as much a sin on this site as anywhere) would your family be described as 'youngish', 'not-so-youngish', or 'I can't remember'. Either way, the camping is fun, but our son is nine and boy camping takes on a whole different flavour with a child's excitement to spice it up.

A youngish daughter (2.5 YO) with two not-so-youngish parents.

Hey Hawkey, congrats on the new TT and good luck. Remember it doesn't matter what campground that you visit there will always be friendly people that can answer your questons. Just park the TT in the campsite and have a beer before you start set-up. That'll help.
