Howdy from Austin!

We've been camping all our lives. After getting married, we spent 20 years in tents, five years with a pop-up. Bought a travel trailer for our 25th anniversary, and have just now purchased a Rockwood 8280WS fifth wheel for our 33rd anniversary. (Ok, and a hail storm totaled the TT)

Thanks!

Cajun, we agree! We have over 20 state and Army Corp of Engineer parks to choose from within 3 hours of Austin.

Welcome from Houston. Just came back from Inks Lake on Easter weekend. Went to visit my brother at his new restaurant (Gastro Pub? as he calls it) in Austin as well.

Welcome, from another fellow Texan. We spent Easter weekend at Nail Creek SP - our first visit. Our site was nice & woodsy, but the lake wasn't very pretty - too low. Inks is still our favorite spot in this area.

Welcome from another Texan - home base is in the country near Sherman - current campsite at Lake Murray (OK) State Park.

Thanks for the welcome!

Inks Lake is GREAT, but you need reservations months in advanced. Very popular, very crowded. Great place to bring the kayaks!

Nails - I agree, it's kind of 'meh'. Nice enough park, but the trails were like small roads, with horses and bike riders that like to be in -your- space.
