Howdy from Central Louisiana (Jena)

Morning folks. We are not new to camping but we are new to a camper. We just got a 2000 Rockwood 2602 which seems to be in fairly nice condition. Before we complete the transaction we want to go thru checking everything out,All seems well except the overhead air unit. It apparently has air & heat.I can get the air to around 65 degrees but the heat is the same temp.Does anyone know where I need to start looking for a problem? It also has the gas furnace but if I can get enough heat from overhead it would be cheaper on us.Thanks for any help !!

Sounds like it has heat strips or heat pump. If a heat pump the temp. is controlled by outside ambient air. If it has heat strips maybe on is broken, From your location in Louisiana a heat pump should work fine but IMO the temp. is too low. Although it is currently cool in your area IMO again the A/C should also be colder. If it is a heat pump/AC combo. I would have it checked by a professional and make sure the inside and outside coils are clean, Since you do not own it and am checking it out I would insist the the owner replace the unit. Good luck and keep us posted.
