Pulled the Chaparral this past weekend and found out about the joy of fifth wheeling. The 5er is a bit heavier than the 28ft Jayco I had before but the room is well worth the weight difference. We had our 2 grandchilderen with us ages 3 and 5 and found there to be plenty of room for all. Now we are looking forward to our first long distance trip in 10 days. We are pulling from Knoxville to the outer banks of NC for a week and are very excited about the trip.

Space can be worth it's weight in gold. How did the grandkids like the 5th wheel? Are they addicted to camping yet?

Grandkids love to go camping with Nana and Pops especially if there is a pool there. 3 year old overcame his fear of water and can hardly keep him out of the pool. Kinda wish they could go to the outer banks with us but school starts and they have to be home. Almost got everything ready to leave Fri. night and looking forward to beach camping in a 5er.

Congrats Harley. We just came back from Norris Lake in TN. Stayed at a privately owned RV/Marina resort. Lake was beautiful, resort was so so. We have been to OBX numerous times, which part you headed to?

Hey pwrstroke Norris lake is about 15 min. from my house used to camp up there alot both at the state park and a private cg I believe the name was Mountain Lake. Headed to the OBX Fri. nite and will start out in Waves NC at Ocean waves campground. Not sure where we will go from there or if we will stay there the whole time. Plan on checking out a few other places while we are there. Last time we stayed at KOA and Frisco Woods. Wabted to try something else this time. Any suggestions about other places??
