Howdy from North Carolina!

Just thought I'd follow through with the formalities of saying Howdy, introducing ourselves and saying thanks for the open door and gathering place on the net for us Forest River owners.

I'm not new to the outdoor scene or travel trailers, but this is my first Work and Play. Prior to our new 18ec, I owned another brand toy hauler with all of the toys so to speak, but this time I was looking for simplicity as well as a more rugged type of unit. We have to boondock occasionally and I like to get off the interstate highways and I have found the 18ec gives me the large water capacity, cargo and equipment hauling capacity, yet descent comfort in a rather small, but rugged package.

My wife and I enjoy the western / cowboy lifestyle, we enjoy most all types of outdoor recreation, fishing, firearms etc. but age has tempered our pursuits a bit. We enjoy horses and all types of equine events, rodeo etc., truck and tractor pulls, festivals, flea markets, craft and thrift stores. We both enjoy our time in our workshop / studio where we enjoy numerous pursuits. She enjoys sewing, scrap booking, wreath crafting etc. and I enjoy leathercraft, firearms and reloading, wood working and scale model design. My wife works in the medical profession and although retired, I am a part of a national championship touring auto racing team.

We look forward to meeting many of you down the trail!
Happy trails,
Carolina Cowboy
