howdy from ohio....
Hi, i just picked up my 2012 Lacrosse 318bhs. We took it out over Memorial day weekend and are packing it as we speak to head up to the S-bar-L Rodeo this weekend. Hopefully if there are any bugs they will show up cause we are pulling in to Colorado next week for 3 weeks. "we" includes myself and my four kids....we suddenly and very unexpectedly lost my wife and mother on Jan 27th. She was only 40 and a picture of health...had her here with us and just like that she was gone.....we miss her incredibly much! She loved to camp and we decided to take the plunge and head out west and just have some time to ourselves and reflect and hopefully find some healing. The layout of the 318 is so perfect for my situation... outdoor kitchen, outside entrance to bath, ease of setting up, (by myself), and the outside shower is huge for keeping the camper clean.

Welcome to the forum from another Buckeye. Sorry about your loss.
Where you from and where is the event? We're a little southwest of Cleveland along I-71.

I love the way you and your children are living through your wife's memory. I agree it's a wonderful way to continue healing. Welcome to the group!! I'm new too. Been here a week & already feel like one of the family. This forum is much like the people you find while camping - kind, generous and helpful. I love the RVing community. Best wishes in your travels and look forward to hearing your stories.

So sorry for your loss.... what a tragedy. You've chosen a great way to pay tribute to your wife and their mother. Happy trails and stay connected, as healing is hard and takes a long time.

sorry for your loss, there are not words for occasions such as these...we lost my mother when I was very young...and she was only 48. my dad raised me, and I know it wasn't easy for him, but he did fine and it sounds like you are off to a wonderful start. your kids will remember this and its good to have something positive come out of such a tragedy, so i commend you for that! good luck and happy trails!

Thanks for all the kind words! We are from the little town of Plain City, about 30 miles west of Columbus. The S-bar-L arena is located on the south edge of Sugarcreek. I was the arena boss of that rodeo for the past 5 yrs and have asked to be relieved of that for this year. The rodeo starts at 7 with preshow entertainment at 6. Family rodeo with (no alcohol) with very good hands participating.

Sugarcreek is not to far south of us. Nice area. Brother-in-law lives in Killbuck a little to the west.

Heya', fellow Buckeye! :::waving::: You're not that far away from us (Jamestown area). We're gonna be on the lookout for your rig when we're out and about at local parks, etc.
I'm so very sorry about the loss of your wife but, like several others have said, you're honoring her in a great way by continuing to enjoy what she also loved. Rest assured that she's right there with you. I hope that you find the peace and healing that you seek while you're on your trip out west, too. Be safe and enjoy it.
