I'm new! Ordering a 2012 Rockwood Roo 25RS

Hello,

My husband and I are in the process of ordering a Rockwood Roo 25RS. We aren't new to camping, but this is our first travel trailer together. We had a 2006 quicksilver popup that we sold a year a half ago and have been waiting for the right moment to upgrade. We've been tagging along with my parents in their Sabre 32BHOK for short camping trips for the last year.

We went to the camper show last week and fell in love with this camper, (it helped that the price was right too!) We were looking at used because we never thought we'd be able to get a new camper with slideouts and bunks with our budget. We will be meeting with our dealer in the next week or two to order it. We still haven't decided on which colors for the interior or anything.

We are also in the process of getting our new tow vehicle. My husband is trading in his jeep for a 2012 Ram Outdoorsman. We are totally clueless about buying a hitch though. Does anyone have any recs? We plan to travel all over Michigan and then venture out farther in the next few years when our kids get a little older.

Anyone else have a Roo 25RS? Anything you have to say about it good/bad? Our salesperson told us they made a ton of changes from last year. I've tried looking up info, but honestly can't find much because they weren't too popular before.

Thanks for reading!

I'm excited for you! We got ours last year, after dreaming about this for years and years. Finally just decided we aren't getting any younger so we pulled the trigger on our unti and "new to us" Ram 2500 to pull it. I recommend the Equalizer brand hitch. Don't forget about a good brake controller. We have the the Tekonsha P3. Once installed, there is no setting, etc.; just hook up and drive! Also recommend the cherry interior with raised panel refrigerator panels. I was sold on the lighter interior, but my DH talkd me into the cherry and I am so glad he did. It looks so rich. We have friends with an oak interior and it pales in comparison to ours. Happy camping!!

Welcome to the Forum. I also agree on the equalizer hitch. We pull a TH that will weight about 11,000 #'s full. You want to match up the trailer to the tow wehicle. This forum is a great place to get the information before you by, just ask.

Smile What Camper Show?

Did you happen to go to the Novi Expo Show? Husband and I feel in love with this camper too!! There were so many couples and families locking into the pricing!! We got a steal of a deal and should be here in about 6 weeks - we went with the cherry cabinets!! Very, very nice looking!! Just curious thought maybe we met! Good Luck and maybe see you camping some time!

We did! What day were you at the show? I think we were there Friday night, right at the end of the show. There was a couple in there who wanted to buy it as well, maybe it was you guys!
