Joining the RVing Life

Hello All, My wife and I just purchased our first RV. It's a Wildwood 407reds park model. We are retired Navy and have been transporting RVs for more than 12 years. We will be setting the trailer up in a state park and don't intend to move very far or very often. We have not taken delivery on the trailer yet and I was hoping for advice on things to look for during the PDI. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum from Bainbridge, Ohio. Congrats on your new Wildwood 407reds park model.
Here is a PDI checklist created by the members here. I found it using the search box above. Enjoy the next phase of your camping adventures.
Post some pics when you get a chance!

Welcome from Wisconsin and thank you both for your service. Congrats on your first RV. There is a learning curve so don't be afraid to ask questions. Lots of friendly, knowledgeable and helpful people here.

Congrats on becoming an RV owner! I would recommend checking everything out before leaving the lot with it. They should had done a PDI prior to your arrival but some service departments will cut corners. Ask a lot of questions and keep asking until you are comfort.

Good luck.

try everything, fridge, water heater, furnace, ac etc... try all lights. Ask about all switches. Carefully operate slides, levelers tongue jack, water piping and all faucets. Look closely for leaks. Operate doors and latches. Open and close all windows. Check out stereo, dvd player, tv, remotes, awning operation. open and close the couch.

In other words, go over it with a fine tooth comb. It will probably take an hour or so but well worth it.
