Just bought a Roo 26RS!

Came back from the RV show, with an order for a new Roo 26RS in hand. Dealer says it should be here in 8-10 weeks, just in time for spring.

It's our first travel trailer, so I will probably have lots of questions. I look forward to being part of this group.

Congratulations Roleen and welcome to the Forest River forums. We will be looking forward to some pictures of the new Roo when you get it home. Don't hesitate to ask questions here either. That is one of the purposes of the forum.

Did you happen to go the the show at Dulles? We were there Saturday. Quite a crowd while we were there.

I'm new to owning a TT also, and I've already started asking my questions (with many more to follow, I'm sure...)
Hopefully I'll be able to repay at some point.

Hokiehall, yes we were at the show in Dulles. We were there just after they opened, I didn't think the crowd was too bad. I was somewhat disappointed in the size of the show. This was my first time at this show, and didn't think it was as large as the show in Baltimore. I've gone to the show there for several years, and it seemed larger.

Anyway, we went to Dulles with the intention of looking at what kind of price we could get on a 2007 Keystone Outback. From there I intended to go to Richmond to buy a new 2006 Outback. But after checking prices, and looking at the Roo, we decided on the Roo. We gave up a couple things we liked on the Outback, but gained others with the Roo, namely it was cheaper, lighter, and when the dealer said we could get an outside stove, instead of the grill, the deal was done. Plus the dealer is close.

Outside stove, sounds interesting, and didn't know that was an option.

Welcome to the site roleen.......You will enjoy your Roo, we have so far. I belleive the 26rs is the one with 4 bunks up front?

Our dealer gave us the option of an outside 3 burner stove or the outside BBQ on our Roo. We ended up getting the stove.

Had to go out and re-check the floor plan on the 26RS...
I know we looked at this model a couple of times when shopping.

Grill/Stove:
I was not offered the option (buying a prev. owned tt), but was provided with a new grill.
I think I would have preferred the stove.
Add another purchase/mod to the growing list...

I got a 06 flagstaff and had the option of the stove or a grilll. The outside location is right under the kitchen window so the grill was out. We got the stove. It's nice because it plugs into the side of the camper and there's a nifty shelf next to it. However it takes up a lot more space than my coleman and the 2 burners are very close together so you have to watch what size pans you use. Because it came with the unit it's neat but would I buy it no. I would rather adapt the Coleman stove to the connection hose on the camper. Just a simple opinion.

That's exactly what I was thinking, to take one of my coleman stoves and see if I could plumb it into the LP port.

MrSen or flagstaff, what type of outside stove do you have? I got the impression it would be some type of aftermarket one, that they would retrofit some how. I hope it turns out Ok. I really liked the idea of the stove. I'm always up first in the morning, and like to go out and make my coffee without waking the others. Plus, we already have a grill.

I am not sure what the make of the stove is, all I know is it is a 3 burner stove.

Before we purchased this ROO, we purchased an 06 rockwood popup and that also had the option of a stove or bbq.

You will like the stove option better only because the bbq is not anything special anyway.

The grill is pretty lousy. If you have a good one, use it instead.

The delivery people commented on the (low) quality and abilities of the grill when doing my delivery walk through. roleen, I think you will be more satisfied with the stove (and suspect I would have been also...)

The stove doesn't have a name on it. At least Idon't think so. But it is mounted in a large fiberglass box with the wind protecter on the side. I will admit it is sturdy and because it hangs in the sideof the camper you don't need another table to set it on. But my Coleman folds flat to about 2 inches and has a pouch on either side of the case for the little propane bottles. Also mine is only a 2 burner the same as my Coleman. Please don't get me wrong I use the one that came with the camper all the time but in an ideal world I like the Coleman better. I stopped carying both and only used the one with the camper last year. I'll figure what I want to carry this year. Decision Decisions

Just bought a 2009 ROO 26RS. So far loving it, except for the Concertone. After our second trip, it just doesn't work. Will check and see if it is a fuse, but right now a mystery. Other than that, I got all the options and it all works good. Took my family of 8 to Yellowstone, and we all were very comfortable.
