Thumbs up Just getting started

My partner and me ordered a Forester aweek ago Sat. and should take delivery in about 6 weeks. We're both anxious to get started though neither one of us has any camping experiance. This is something I've wanted to do forever and now is the right time. I'm reading everything I find on the net and then we will spend 2 days at Alliance's campsite to learn and then a few days at Camp Wilderness in Disney to get the hang of it, before some further trips. So, am I doing it the right way? Arnie

Can't hurt knowledge is king. Just have fun and relax on your adventures in the great outdoors. There no wrong way to camp. Make a fire, cook a hotdog and marshmallows. Take a walk in the woods, take pictures and enjoy. I'm camping in my pasture this weekend. LOL

Welcome aboard and congrats on your new RV! There can be a learning curve to RVing and it seems you are on the right path. I personally don't see a need to go out and buy everything in the beginning but there are likely to be some highly recommended items to consider. What all can wait will partly depend upon budget and camping style.

Remember we are here if you need us.

Hello and welcome. 6 weeks will feel like forever. Spend that time learning everything you can. When you go for your pdi, do not give them any money until the pdi is done and all repairs completed to your satisfaction. If it turns on or off, opens, closes, moves etc you want it demonstrated and you return the demo. Even boil a cup of water in the microwave to make sure it works. Have them show you how to winterize and dewinterize. Videotape the entire pdi so you can refer back later. It has helped us on both of the two trailers we've owned. Most importantly, enjoy it!
