Just switched to Forest River; Got a Cedar Creek

Hi,

My name's Ted. My wife and I have been full-time RVers since I retired from the US Navy in June 2014. We started with a 23' travel trailer (because I already had an SUV to pull it with) and committed ourselves to try living in it for a year. Before the year was up we had decided we love it and traded in the SUV for a Ford F-350 dually, with the intention of finding just the right fifth wheel. We finally found everything we wanted in the 2015 Cedar Creek. We bought it in Cedar Creek TX (how cool is that?) the first week in May and pulled it to San Antonio, where we had been visiting for the past 3 months. Then we pulled it to home-town Louisiana and are loving it. The only problems I'm having are that the bedroom (Schwintek) slide-out will not go all the way in. Something is jamming and I have to override it in order to get it in. The other problem is with one of the pull-down shades - it won't stay down. Oh yeah, the central vacuum hose was not properly connected, so I had to remove a panel and connect it myself. And the rear-view camera is horrible. Otherwise, it's been awesome.

I'd like to thank everyone who posts their advice on these forums because they can be very helpful.

Ted

Welcome and congrats! It sounds like you are still under warranty, contact a dealer and see if they can look at it, if you cant get it done yourself.

When you have a problem with the 'Schwintek' slide and have to use the 'over ride' method, you will then need to 'teach' the system how to 'count' the revolutions of the turning shaft in order to go all the way in or out. There are some instructions here somewhere to tell you how to do that.
