lighting

Hi everybody,
This is my first time asking a question on this forum, although I have been following the forum for a while and see it as very very helpful and informative!
My question is this:
I have a 2000 Fleetwood Pace arrow on a ford Triton F53 chassis.
my problem is trailer lighting.
When I turn on the ignition the headlights and tail lights come on and trailer lights work perfectly. BUT my dash lights don't. I have a three position switch, and the second position is for "parking" lights and third is for lights all around with dash lights, BUT trailer lights don't work.
I hope you can make sense out of mumbling. Any help please....

Has it ever worked since you've had it?

Is the trailer wiring installation a new unstall?

I have had it for 7 months when it was installed.
I never have driven at night and pulled the trailer.
so I don't know that it has worked any different

There should be a dimmer switch that control the dash lights, probabally turned all the way down,

The trailer tow lights should be plug and play, but it's possible that when they were installed that something got unplugged and that's your problem.

Have you checked all the fuses in all the fuse boxes?

I have checked all the fuses that I know of. I do not have a layout of where the fuse boxes are and which fuse is for what, except there is a fuse box on the driver side of the engine compartment and those fuses are labeled, and I have checked them. all are ok.

In my younger days I once hooked up a radio and chose a 'ground' wire that worked UNTIL you turned the lights on. If you turned the lights on they wouldn't work if the radio was on at the same time.

Something like that could be your problem.

It turns out, the trailer was wired correctly and standard wiring. The connector on the RV had two wires switched, the ground and the trailer running lights.
The tech that fixed my problem thought that it was the way Fleetwood wired their connector!
Thank you all for your responses. This is a very supportive forum!
