Looking for first TT

Hi all!

My husband and I are looking to buy a used Mini Lite 2304 or Micro Lite 23FB. It will be our first TT and we'd really appreciate any tips you can share on buying a used trailer. We're thinking about a 2014 or 2015. Any areas of particular concern those years we should be looking out for?

PDI's are not a "forum thing". That is the acronym for Pre Delivery Inspection. Where good dealers do an hour long walk thru with you on most aspects of your TT/RV.

Same thing goes with cars, but you don't get the "walk thru".

that stands for pre delivery inspection, its what you do before signing on the dotted line or handing over any money other then your deposit. use the search box at the upper right of this page and put in PDI

don't let anyone rush you and cover all the stuff listed plus take pics even if it is a not new trailer. It is smart of you to get on the forum before buying there are many stories of folks buying with not doing a PDI and really being disappointed after the sale.

The cross support bars that supports my fresh water tank (FWT) were giving in on my 2016 23LB. While I filed a warranty claim, I decided to fix it myself by bolting on an angle iron over each of the supports. I would think the campers you're looking at probably have a similar setup so you might want to take a close look at the FWT. Larry G.

I'm putting PDI at the top of our list right now!

aufinger - Wow. I wouldn't have expected to see that. Thanks for that important tip. Have you been happy with your 23LB otherwise?

I only had one other problem. The position of the latches that hold the murphy bed in the up position was putting too much pressure on the hinge that the murphy bed pivots on. That was pulling out the hinge on either end. I positioned new latches so that it wasn't necessary to push so hard on the mattress to get it latched or unlatched. When I get around to it, I'll replace the pulled out rivets on the hinge with bolts. In spite of these two problems, I really enjoy the camper.
