Question Looking For Opinions

Hi everyone! We're looking into buying our 1st TT and would love your opinions. We're buying new. I think we've narrowed our search to the Surveyor Sport 240, the Tracer Ultra Lite 230 FBS, the Rockwood Mini-Lite 2104S or 2109S, or the Keystone Premier Ultra Lite 22RBPR (obviously that last one is not FR).

We can tow 8,000, but really want to keep it fairly short & light. We want to be able to go whereever we want without trouble. Don't need a ton of room, only need to sleep 2 (occasionally 3).

What are your thoughts on these trailer lines?

Thanks in advance!

Why don't you look at Flagstaff FBRS Micro Lite I bought a 21' 2012 last year and we like it

You should go to a large RV show where you can compare all the different models. Take a camera with you. Take lots of pictures and asks a lot of questions. If you are able sit in the TT for 1/2 to an hour. If you feel comfortable then it is a good fit. If you can not sit in the unit for this short time then you will have a problem if you are out in bad weather and are stuck inside.

Welcome to the forum!

When we 1st started looking at trailers over a year ago we started with the same size range/layouts you are looking at. We really liked the same Premier model till we saw the Surveyor 240. We felt the quality was better and liked the outside kitchen better. Only plus at the time for the Premier was that the Premier had power levelers/stabilizers and the Surveyor didn't.

Over time we realized that for us we would be happier with a 5er (the old adage: "Buy your 3rd RV 1st") and finally decided on the Crusader we have now. Knowing what we know now and if we had stayed with our original requirements: I would opt for the Tracer over the other 2. PTM's quality and customer service are fantastic and there is a lot of bang for the buck in the Tracers.

The search was a lot of fun for us and I hope you have as much fun as we had!
Good Luck!

Caper: Good advice. We went to the Houston Show yesterday. Unfortunately, the floorplans we are most interested in were not there for the most part. We did sit in other floorplans for a bit.

DnD: Great to hear from someone who looked at exactly the same trailers we are focusing on. Really appreciate your experience. Boy! Y'all really went with something completely different!

We've been looking for several months now, and I'm just amazed by all of the choices! What do you all think are the most important features of a good trailer? What do you think is unnecessary fluff?

Thanks again!

Important features and what's unnecessary are as different as each buyer. Take a look at your family, look at each trailer, each feature, and then make a list of features you think you might like. From there you can ask people here how they like each feature, whether it really is useful or is great in concept but fails in function. More than likely there is someone on here who is in your same family situation, who can offer great advice on the unit you chose.

Our thoughts - worth about 2 cents when the market is up - run like this: we decided to go with a sofa & table as in the 2109s rather than the dinette in the others you mentioned. And the counter space in the 2109s seemed more useful to us than the corner arrangement. Several of those models you mentioned have an entertainment center dividing the bed from the rest of your space, and we thought open space might feel better in a TT that small. We have only managed to spend 1 two-week trip and a few weekends in ours but would not change a thing about the floor plan so far.
We hope you are pleased with whatever you decide!

we looked for something light. We didn't want a slide. Big enough for us and maybe the grandkids occationaly. It's just the 2 of us now & 2 small dogs. We wanted the couch facing the tv and we skimmed past those that faced sideways. It's perfect for us, easy to tow and we can park it easy in our driveway or if needed, on the side yard. Something you do need to think about where are you going to park it at home.

Very nice! A lot like the Fun Finder X-214WSD we looked at last year. I love the TV console.

We also went back and forth between the surveyor 240, Premier 22 and the Tracer 230. We purchased the Tracer 230 and even though we haven't been able to use it yet we think we made the right decision.
