Looking to buy WindJammer 3006WK- 2018

Hi,
We have been shopping for campers and think we have settled on the WindJammer. Any input or things to ask about or look for?

I have a Model 3029W 2014 the only thing I don't like is the stabilizers, I have the electric ones,to put it bluntly they suck,I ended up going to wal mart and purchasing some aluminum jack stand to help support the camper, having said all that my wife and I went to a camper show this spring and they had a 2017 wind jammer with auto leveling system. Those stabilizers were heavy duty, wish I could retro fit those on mind but can't. Other than that haven't had any major problems.

Congrats, I have owned mine since 2012 and am very pleased with it. The unit tows great and the fit an finish is outstanding. It was my first camper turns a lot of heads I guess its the V nose. You will love it. After using it for several years, I would have made some changes, but I guess that's part of owing a camper. There will always be a mod of some sort you will want to do, kinda like a hobby.

Order it! Get exactly what options, colors, fabric types and equipment you want. We did and haven't regretted it. Sure, it's a 6 week wait, so what? You're committing to over 30K.

What you saw on the WJ with "Auto Level" were HD Jacks Not Stabilizers! The "Auto Level" has been "Stopped/Delayed/Discontinued" on the New Units, something about the "Frames on the Auto Level units"! There were V-Lites and Windjammers staged on the "Ship Lot" with Auto Level installed, but the Factory Person said "they are on hold"? There are units with Auto Level in Members hands now so we will see if the Factory brings it back! Youroo!!

Extended Warranties

Hi,
Getting closer to our Windjammer 3006WK purchase. Since we will be seasonal campers we are interested in making sure we are covered for repairs. Any advice on extended warranties would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Tabascocat98,inregards to "Auto Level" since you are going "Seasonal" you should be good with standard supports, not moving to "Level Up" everytime makes a Big Difference! Youroo!!

Definitely sign up for the 2nd year warranty through Forest River, if nothing else. I believe it was $150 for the 2nd year. The two things I wish we would have got on ours is the 50 amp service and 2nd A/C. The AC was fine in the SF Bay Area but on our first time in 90 degree and 90% humidity, the AC was ineffective...

Oh and with the 50 amp service you won't have to manage your power usage.

We have the v-lite version. Love it. Its a 2017 we ordered. Get the 50 amp 2nd ac. We optioned the 15k ac unit up front as well. 90 + it gets warm inside. With both ac running it cools great.

This was discontinued 3 months ago.
You have to have purchased it before June 1, to still be eligible.

TobascoCat- Have you noticed that there are not many 3006WK's around the Nation? I too am preparing to purchase one. I live in AR and will have to travel at least 7 hrs just to get to a dealership who has one! With that said, I've noticed there are few "used" units for sale posted on the web. It leads me to believe most people are happy with their WJ 3006WK's. I hope so, because I really want one! In regards to purchasing an extended warranty, I am concerned as well. I do not have experience in this area, but I have been researching the web for info. Extended warranties seem to be a battleground of problems for many. Others "wouldn't leave home without it". I'll drop you a couple of weblinks that you might find interesting, as I did. Best of luck on your new purchase!

Check out the flagstaff v-lites. Exact same as the windjammer even made on the same assembly line and maybe a dealer closer to you. We found a flagstaff dealer an hour away and the closest windjammer dealer was 3 hours away.

Mine is with the water pump. It is being the cabinet door under the pantry outside of the bathroom. The door is screwed shut.
