Hi, does anyone know if the lake is frozen enough to drive across? It will knock off a couple of hundred miles.

Welcome from Flushing. Winds howling outside at 40-50 and 20 degrees. It is not a nice day here.

Welcome from Wisconsin where it's a balmy 10. Wind chills knock that down to -15.

10 degrees here in Pentwater Michigan, with winds howling with 30-40 mph gusts. Several power outages in the area. Last spring our power went out for 3-1/2 days from straight line winds, and I used our motorhome generator to run the refrigerator and three freezers full of wonderful food.

Welcome from Baraboo, WI. It has been cold enough here to create a phenomenon called ice quakes. It happens when the water in the ground freezes and when it cracks, there is a loud boom. I have experienced it when on lakes, never when sitting in my house. It sure lit up facebook. Everyone wanted to know what blew up. One boom was heard by myself and a friend 10 miles away while we were taking on the phone.
