Missouri Hello to everybody

Hello everybody, My name is Robin and my husband and I have been seasonal RV'ers for many years. Started out in all used, 67' Shasta, then 93' Terry travel trailer, went to an 01'Gulfstream Fiver and just yesterday My husband and I ordered our 1st brand new Fiver, A Forest River Flagstaff 8528BHWS. We went through RVDirect and although a little hesitant, am hoping for good things by going through them. We tried to deal locally and then even went a little bit farther and dealers still wouldn't match or come close to their price. So we saved around $4000 and only have a 3 hour drive to Des Moines to pick it up so it made sense to us. We looked at some other brands and we both really liked the Flagstaff's layout and storage so we are really looking forward to being the "first" owners of this one. So am looking forward to being a part of the Forest River family and all that this forum has to offer.

to the FRF. Congratulations on your new Fiver! There's something about *new* and being the "first" to use that just so nice. There's a lot of information here on the boards so feel free to browse around and post when you are ready.

Happy camping!

@DSN, Well you know what they say about Missouri weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change. Nothing like Missouri cold winters and the hot, humid summers. We love camping in the state parks and pretty fortunate to have some nice ones. I am located in St Joseph, about 45min-1 hour north of KC. Have lived here all my life and feel that is it a great community to raise our kids in.

I was born (hatched) and raised in Trenton, went to college in Rolla, MO. It was known as Missouri School of Mines & Metallurgy at the time, 1958-1962. Moved back to Trenton in 83, stayed til 88 and moved to Carlisle, AR til 2000 and moved to NC. Retired 31Jul06 and am still here in Concord.

Welcome to the forum. We are just south of Kansas City. We love coming up your direction to Wallace State Park. Maybe we'll run into you sometime.

I know the St. Joe area pretty well. Nice country up that way... my grandparents lived in Weatherby and Cameron until they died.

@Oldcar: I was born and raised until I was 12 in Harrisonville (Go Wildcats) Couldn't have asked for a better childhood! My father was the Superintendant for Cass County School District. He got a better offer when I was 12 and it was off to Columbia for rest of my growing up.

I gotta stop writing... too much and I'm going to pack up my family and head back to MO!

James

We had a great experience with RVDirect. Went to DesMoines in March to pick up our C. Saved $8000 over best dealers price.
