mountain getaways

Hello from Walla Walla, Washington. My husband passed away in Colorado in 2013. I moved to take care of my mother. We loved camping and enjoyed the Colorado mountains, and I want to continue camping with our two dogs. We used to have a 2005 Lance 1161 side door. It was to much for me so I downsized and downgraded. I have had issues with this camper but I have most everything fixed so it's time to go explore. Any great spots I should visit? Karen

Welcome!
Where you are is perfectly situated to explore from the Oregon coast to the Washington Olympic Peninsula all the way through the mountains of Idaho and Montana. There are some truly amazing places very close to you like Mount Rainier, etc. as well.

Welcome from Ontario. I would say come visit Canada especially at 30 cents to the dollar. Where are your interests?

I have two dogs that go with me so I like to camp where they have room. I really like the mountains. I have a 1966 cj6 jeep that I would like to flat tow and take on trails. I also would like to travel some scenic biways and national parks. In short, I love the outdoors.

Hi there! Sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. As for downsizing and downgrading - sometimes less is more especially if it's manageable. I can't help with the camping suggestions but if you ever visit SoCal I can suggest a few places.

You've got a ton of fabulous places within a days drive of you. You mentioned bikes/mountains/national parks....Glacier National Park is 1 (long) days drive from you, and along the way is the Haiwatha Trail for biking.

a few others that come to mind...
Bend/Sunriver/Sisters Oregon (HUGE on biking...among other many other things)
Hells Canyon/Snake River area
Mt. Hood area
LOTS of great camping along the Oregon/Washington Coast
