New 2011 Flagstaff

Hello travelers,
My name is Doug, my wife is Lynn, we reside in Southern California, High Desert area, and we bought the new Flagstaff 831RLBSS, took delivery in April 2010 and left 1 May for D.C. as Granddaughter's band was performing in the Armed Forces Day Parade there. So we wandered across the US of A, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, and on to PA, Gettysburg, Hershey, Philly and College Park, MD and then made a loop south VA. TN. GA and to Mobile, AL to visit friends. 9K miles over seven weeks.
Great trip, a lot of history. Two tires went bad, bent up our steps in the Pocono's, very narrow roads up there, but overall great trip.
Our TV is 2009 Silverado 2500HD Duromax.
My hobby is traveling and photography, Lynn's is genealogy.
Hoping to do the Northwest and new England in Fall 2011.
best regards to all,
Doug aka Wanderer and Lynn

Wanderer:
We are in the process of purchasing a 2011 831FLSS. Kinda wondering what kind of sway control or Weight Distribution hitch you use. OR do you just haul it with the hitch ball?

Morti, I got the Equalizer E2 model which is a weight distrubution and sway control in one type hitch. Our trailer tows really well with it. There are more expensive hitches but this one works for us. I wouldn't recommend just the hitch ball route. Got caught in the middle of Kansas with tornado warnings and winds which the radio said were 50-60mph, semis kept on going, as did I and you could feel a little push when a gust of wind came across the highway, but it was really very stable. Also once you are outa of California and New York I believe, where the semis are no longer limited to 55mph a lot of times they will run right by you and I think you'll be glad you have a sway control hitch in those situations.
Best regards,
Wanderer

My son-in law is a big Blackhawk fan, originally from Chicago area of course, but now he lives here in Cali currently. Trying to get him into rv camping, but he is not so interested right now.
