New 8289WS Owners from Texas

Another new Forest River owner from Pflugerville, Texas saying howdy.
We've owned our new 8289WS for two weeks and two short outings and we love it. This is our fourth trailer and happy for the change. We're looking forward to learning (and sharing) much information.

Welcome with your new 8289WS. Had mine a little over 2 years now. I suggest you get rid of those trail express tires asap. I installed GY Marathon on mine and went up to D rated from C had a blowout. Make sure you also grease your bearings my came about 1 and 1/2 tubes low. I use the high temp 400 degree now. Buy it at Napa. You picked I nice unit we really like ours...........

Thanks for that excellent advice regarding the tires and bearing grease. I have been a little concerned about both. That's the boot in the rear I needed to get 'er done.

I actually put load range "E" tires on mine. And, don't forget a serious consideration for a tire pressure monitoring system.

We love our year 2013 8289WS. We have about 23,000 miles on it so far.

Great information. That's exactly what I want to do. I'm a little concerned about the 10-ply tire pressure exceeding the rim pressure limitations with the aluminum wheels. I've heard the aluminum is limited to 50 lbs.

The pressure rating on your rims are 60 psi. Your PSI cold pressure on the trail express C is 50 lbs. If you google the address on your hub cap it will tell you the PSI and load capacity of your rims. The web address is on the spindle......

Welcome from Cleburne, Texas. We lived in Round Rock from '94 to 2000, loved the area to include Austin. Would be my favorite place to live if we ever leave here. We have had our 8289 since Dec 30, 2013 and have put close to 3000 miles on it so far. Planing another trip next week. I am going to try and get this first year out of the oem tires, any trouble at all and they are goners. Have spent many $$$ on mods so any more will wait till next winter. I hope you have as good luck with yours as we have had with ours so far.

Welcome from Kitchener Ontario! We love the layout of our 8289ws. Took deliver last July and managed 22 days away last summer here. All best in your travels!

Welcome fellow 8289WS owner. We have had ours for 12 months and love it. Added JT Strongarms for stability and also added IntelliJacks to do the leveling and auto move to connect and then retract. Changed to E tires and run about 72-75 lbs without any problem on the OEM wheels.

SO maybe we should start a "bet'cha didn't know this about your 8289WS" thread

Let's make it easy to start!

What *IS* that hole in your bathroom cabinet for?
